Thank you to those who joined us for the second general meeting last Thursday. We learned a lot about other routes in nutrition certification and got to meet the wonderful Dr. Rachel Lindsey from our KRS department. She gave a talk about her professional journey as an athlete and then transitioning into working with athletes. For a recap of her talk, you can find it in the meeting minutes HERE.
In addition, Dr. Lindsey is leading a study abroad trip next June. This trip is customized for health science majors and is a quick 12 day trip through Spain. For more information, please continue to read below!
As a reminder, we have a lot of good stuff coming up this month. Please check the links below to find out how to participate. We hope to see you there!
Study Abroad Next Summer in Spain!
Dr. Lindsey has extended an invitation to FSHN students to join her on a 12-day trip through three major cities in Spain next summer. You’ll be enrolled in KRS 203 and earn 3 credits for this trip. This is open to all health science majors and scholarships are available.
Please contact Dr. Lindsey (firstname.lastname@example.org) ASAP if you’re interested!

Waianae Eat Local Challenge
Every month, Makeke Waianae features a new produce to encourage attendees to not only try new foods, but to also stay active. This month’s challenge is beets! FSHN Council will be making smoothie samples for the visitors. If you’d like to help with food prep and/or the actual event, please let me know by this Thursday, Oct. 12.
UH Food Day
Every year, our Dietetic Interns and SODEXO work together to present Food Day at Campus Center. Please come help with this event by volunteering for a shift OR come by and enjoy the event! This event is a great chance to promote your major, provide nutrition education, and network with these organizations.
If you’re interested in volunteering, please sign up HERE by this Friday, Oct. 13.
Halloween Bake Sale
Come support our club at this mini bake sale with spirited grab-and-go treats for Halloween! Proceeds will go back to our members to help provide food at the meetings and help with maintenance of this club.
We appreciate your support.
